I read an article not long ago that said Mel Gibson had said that he would not act anymore unless the script was extrodinary. With Mel Gibson being one of my favorite actors, I was afraid that he would never act again.
His newest movie Edge of Darkness has Gibson playing Thomas Craven, a veteran detective whose daughter is murdered on the front steps. When Craven (Gibson) is convinced that he was not the target he goes on quest to find his daughters killers. As Yahoomovies.com says, “His investigation leads him into a dangerous looking-glass world of corporate cover-ups, government collusion and murder — and to shadowy government operative Darius Jedburgh who has been sent in to clean up the evidence.”
My kind of movie! But with Mel’s recent divorce with his wife, and the fact that many have not forgotten his “Jew” comments, I wonder if Edge of Darkness might be a box office flop.
